A Path to Harmonious Living
Redefining obligations and fostering genuine change on personal and global levels
By: Maryam Nayeb Yazdi
Living in harmony with ourselves involves tuning into our bodies’ natural rhythms and establishing flexible guidelines instead of rigid routines. We often feel constrained by structures we didn’t create, leading to a cycle of obligations that may not align with our personal needs, wants, and desires. To live a joyous, harmonious life, we must reassess and reevaluate our perceived obligations, finding ways to incorporate happiness and joy into our daily lives.
Understanding Our Obligations and Discovering Joy
When examining our schedules, we often find that a significant portion of our day is filled with obligations. It’s essential to understand why these activities are perceived as such and explore how we can transform them into joyous or happy experiences. For instance, administrative work, legal matters, or working for a paycheck might be viewed as obligations. However, recognizing our interconnectedness helps us see that these experiences serve a purpose in our lives. The key to living a joyous, harmonious life is understanding the reasons behind our actions and finding purpose in them.
